Training tours take on Galway

While the Galway/Irish rain has lived up to its reputation (I’ve been blow drying my shoes every morning), somehow it hasn’t gotten in the way of my running. Every morning since I’ve been in Galway it’s been partly cloudy with no rain (so a complete tropical summer by Galway’s standards), creating the perfect opportunity for me to carry on my sightseeing tradition of “training tours” from London.

Since I haven’t spent much time in the city of Galway, this week has been a perfect opportunity for me to learn my way around and see some of Ireland’s finest sights. And for some reason I’ve been testing my fate by bringing my camera out on morning runs, crossing my fingers (successfully thus far!) that the rain will hold off.

Somehow it’s worked so far, and I’m thanking my lucky stars I’ve been able to see and photograph some of the best bits of Galway. Have a look, and if you have any suggestions for my last days here, please let me know!

*Also, fear not: I’ll be posting more Volvo Ocean Race coverage soon … the WiFi here has been nearly nonexistent, so my blogging has been sadly kept to a minimum
